Second flush using CLR got even more out. This time its looking like i got everything out. I'd be surprised if there was more in there. I'm thinking there is more of this in the coolant through out the engine.

There definitely could be. This kind of crap in the system is a compelling case for using deionized water - it has much less tendency to create deposits like this. CLR rocks

Does distilled water count? Because thats what ive always used to top up

 

weird thing is I've never used tap water in my coolant. I always use premixed coolant. The good news is the heat is back to its oven hot temps like it should be.

That could be your problem right there. What color is your coolant? The pics I posted are what happens when you mix 50/50 premixed antifreeze with the OEM G12. 50/50 is green, G12 is pink, and when you put them together they make peanut butter.

 

That's awesome. I'm going to give my heater core the CLR treatment this weekend.

 

I never mix different antifreeze. what came out wasn't a 'goop' or anything like that. it was all little bits of sediment. the best way to describe them is sand like.
