Default Heater Issues help please?!

My heater puts out almost no heat i'm thinking maybe heatercore but not sure. I put a piece of cardboard to up my water temp but it did nothing but bring engine temps up ( it was running right at the half way mark) I let it sit for a while thinking it might just take a long time but nothing. Any tips or help trouble shooting would be much appreciated. Thank you!

P.s i'm also getting a burning oil smell ( not caused by AC) I check the oil levels often and it's all good there... So i'm lost on that Ideas at what might be the issue?

Where is the thermostat at I wanted to change that while flushing the coolant. I.m trying to do the easier things before trying to change the core

If it's a 2.8, it's positioned conveniently behind the timing belt. If it's a 1.8 you can get at it from below the car. https://www.audiforums.com/forum/diy...4-1-8t-127029/
