Help with 2001 A4 Keyless Entry
#11
Alright, well thanks for all of the help. You have been amazing! I'll take a look at the system and make sure it hasn't gotten wet. I don't really put anything that is wet in my car, even the trunk, but you never know what could have gotten there. Aside from that, I'll either find someone with a VAG or else I'll get one for myself this summer.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

Time to necro this thread. I have my own VAG, and have tried syncing my keys using every method I've been able to find on the web. Including those on Ross-tech: http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/car...-matching.html
Since I have my own VAG, and over the past month have been learning my way around it (reasonably anyway), is there any way we can diagnose this?
I received codes for 00955 and 00956 in central locking, erased them and they haven't come back.
When attempting the Ross-Tech guide, I noticed that clearing the keys (bottom of the guide) still results in a reading of 0011 in measuring block 003. The car has only ever had 2 switchblade keys.

I'm going to head over to a scrap yard today or tomorrow to try and pull out a receiver from another car (perhaps that is the issue?). I'm just curious if I can use any receiver from the B5 A4 or Passats. Are they all the same or are some different?
Thanks in advance.

Bump!
Today I pulled out a couple of receiver looking pieces from a 1996 2.8 a4, underneath the rear seats. They are silver boxes, one of which says "Alarm" on it. Not entirely sure if either of these are the part I'm looking for. And I have no idea where to find the same ones on my 2001, as I believe they changed their positioning in the later years?
I would love to hear back from some of you experts!
