Default Help 99.5 audi a4 stuttering

I have a 1999.5 Audi A4 quattro automatic. It started stuttering really bad, check engine light came up, said cylinder 4 misfire, changed my spark plugs then three days later check engine light came back on, this time said cylinder 1 misfire, thought it might be my coil packs so i swapped them around, three days later CEL came on again, this time cylinder one and four misfire. Changed my spark plugs to NGK's (audi dealership said these are the ones i should be using). A week later, started stuttering again, this time, cylinder one, three and random misfires (P0300, PO301, PO303 codes). Brought it to a repair shop, they thought it might be Power Control Module, changed that, started suttering next day(no check engine light though) broght it back, they chagned fuel filter MAF and air filter, drove it out, a day later stuttering again(No check engine light though again) No idea what it could be. Help?!

Is that the same thing as the power control module? or the ignition control module, or something different? I can't seem to find it.

So the ignition control module is different then the power control module? Because I already changed the PCM. was driving yesterday and it started stuttering so bad, check engine light was flashing, and car wouldnt go. Everytime I got up to 2000 rmps the car would not go any more, could this still be ICM? If so, where is it located and is it easy enough to do by yoursef? Could the stuttering be the coil packs going or already gone? or more likely the ICM? Thanks for the help!!

+1 for ignition control module. My car (same car as yours) was doing the same thing. I changed plugs and a coil before i finally found the problem.

The ICM is mounted on the top of the air box. There are two electrical connectors attached to it. It is affixed with two bolts. Takes about 10 minutes to change out. Very easy fix. Good luck.

So what the audi place told me was the power control module, was actually the ICM, so that has been changed and still stuttering, yesterday was driving and it started stuttering SO bad when i got up past 2000 rpm's it wouldn't go forward. Tonight, looked at the engine, found a HUGE hole in the vacumm line underneath the manifold, (like you can see right in side of it its about 2 inches in length)don't know how the audi place could miss that.. could that cause my stuttering?

uhhh durrr.... sure it can get it replaced, then watch everything work! or...you could do magic spells like... Abracadabra! or my favorite spell....Hocus Pocus ! and your Audi issues will disappear like magic
