yah, the coil packs are not recalled, i called audi

when i first went in thats what i thought it was, they tested them said they were fine, then just today they said 'its your coil pack in cylinder three (where all hte misfiring was happening). Put a brand new one in all four, to test it test drove it for 20 min and the stuttering was still there. spark plugs are brand new, compression tests are fine, fuel injectors fine, maf good, icm good, brand new fuel filter air filter coolant temp sensor. The only thing not fixed yet is that huge vacuum leak, but they said that has no impact on stuttering and it says misfire cylinder one and three when CEL comes on. im lost : (

 

I know this is little too late but i think your B5 might also fall under the bad coil pack that comes with these cars.

Check with your local Audi stealership,if your car does fall under the recall,you will get all 4 of them replaced,FREE OF CHARGE! I had mine replaced for free at my local Audi stealership for free in my 2001 A4 B5

Remember to ask them,if you car,qualifies for the "bad coil pack recall" and see what they say.

 

I was told by the shop working on my car they were recalled so i called the audi dealership, and they said no, your year is not but my friend as a 99 and his is. and mine is just a 99.5 so i dont see why my coil packs wouldnt be. Maybe it is the wiring harness going to the coil pack, its wrapped up so i can't really get a good look at the wires,mbut is there no way to test that?

 

oh,alright then,you called and asked about the coils... I don't understand why you even believe them,at this point,anything they say is moot,their credibility is shot.

Go somewhere else,stop feeling sorry for yourself and take your car elsewhere,ask for the refunds on parts and work done.

This isn't getting you anywhere. 1st thing you need to do is stop dealing with this crooked shop,thats #1 on the list,then #2 is find a honest shop to look at your car.

#2 bring up a lawyer in your conversation with these cookie crooks -_-

 

Yah, i am definitely not going back to them ever,, I will be calling tomorrow to tell them i am not paying for the parts and bringing my laywer into it : )
maybe i'll buy new coils and test them out myself, the 'new' one they put in cylinder three looks more like a 'used' one, it ha rust around the bolts. considering theres not a whole lot more it could be..

I'm sorry this had to happen to you,it happens to a lot of us,even men! if you don't know anything about cars,your fair game to get ripped off but places like that,normally prey on women,more than men. Next time,bring your boyfriend or husband,if your single,hell...hire a bum/hobo off the street and have him come with you,tell him to call you his daughter,after the caper,pay him his fee of a jug of jack and be happy

Whoa slow down with the Honda thing once you go German you dont go back girl it's bad luck lol. they gave you a invoice for the auto tranny that they installed correct look over it and read every detail if it say's these word's at all "WE AS A DEALER/REPAIR SERVICE HAVE THE RIGHT TO INSTALL AND REPAIR ANY PART WE SEE NECESSARY TO FIX VEHICLE PROBLEM AT HAND" if there is anything that say's that in you invoice there gonna argue in court that they were just trying to fix the car and get you on your way as fast as possible and the judge is gonna grant them the win and you will have to pay up the 250 or how ever much they say you owe them. BUT hear is something you can do first go to the dealer personnely and talk to the head guy and tell him to take off all the part's that you did not grant them permission to install in your car and to please do what you told them which is something that had to do with the tranny correct? If he say's No WERE JUST TRYING TO HELP YOU OUT BE LIKE NO IM NOT PAYING FOR ANY OF THE PART'S YOU PUT IN MY CAR BECAUSE I HAVE NOT SIGNED ANY PAPERWORK PERTAINING TO THAT.if that dosent work take your car home call your local small claim's court and i think it's called supenia or something i forget but what ever just take them to court rember SMALL CLAIM"S COURT and there you will be able to talk to the judge your self and tell him/her what is going on and you will win the case but if on that invoice it say's that your pretty muched FU&K because it has happened to people that i know.

And the small claim's court will be better for you because there everything is much easier and you wont need a lawyer.

BUT DONT TELL THEM YOUR TAKING THEM TO COURT OR GETTING A LAWYER AND REMEMBER IN A NICE TONE

this is just my opinion this is what i would do this kind of stuff happens every day hear in Miami

 

I got the transmission done like 2 months ago, and that was before i brought it in for stuttering, on the transmission invoice it says, " I herby authoirze the above repair work to be done alone with the necessary material an dhereby grant you and/or your employees permission to operate teh vehicle for the purposes of testing and inspection. An express mechanics lien is herby acknoledged on above vehicle to secure the amount of repairs therto" Which on the invoice it says, transmission, exhaust down pipe, filter and fluid, sway bar links, and control arms, and exhaust sleeve. NOTHING about the stuttering because I brought it in after the transmission for them to look at the stuttering and since I brought it in, i have not gotten ONE bill or invoice or signed anything.
