Hey Yo,
I have a 2001 A4 2.8. The past month I've been having problems when cruising around 30-40 mph. The engine hesitates and kind of sputters back at me before taking off again. It only does it at that speed. Has anyone else had similar problems? I need help!!!! I am not that mechanically inclined but refuse to get rapped by the dealership. Could it be back spark plugs?

i had a similar problem when i first got my car. i had a hole in one of my turbo hoses, so when i'd hit boost it would sputter like that because of air leaking.

 

i sort of have the same problem, i just go up to 40mph so that it shifts and then there is no prob. for some reason right in that area, right before it shifts i have problems to

 

check for holes in your turbo hoses.....loss of boost will cause a hestitation....

 

mengle has a 2.8 which means no turbo. are you auto or tip?

I have the same problem at that speed, but i just chalked it up to bein out of the power band... then again thats something a newb would say lol
