Thats what I said!! the parts totaled $166, and the labor was$250 + tax. It was actually the whole pcv system.

Also, I had the fuel pressure checked, and everytime the pressure builds a little when the key is turned on, but drops right back to 0 in about 10 seconds. I ordered another fuel pump, and will know more tomorrow afternoon.

Also the code was po171 system too lean, which I attributed to all of the cranking to get the car started. Is it possible that the fuel filler cap is not letting the tank pressurize?

Ive thought about that too, ill stop by autozone tonight and pick up a new gas cap and try it out and let you know. But definitely let me know about the fuel pump tomorrow, also how much did you pay for it? And are you planning on installing it yourself?

Replaced the gas cap and that didn't do anything. Also I have noticed that when I have above a half tank it starts easier, not first try but easier. Maybe the fuel level sender?

Well, today I put in my new VDO fuel pump(made in Gremany), and it solved my problem! Thank God, its been a nightmare. Long story short, make sure your pump is made in Germany!! The cheap $60 pump with 5 year warrenty sounds good, but sucks to keep replaceing. I rented a fuel pressure tester, and tested my pressure, and saw that it dropped almost immediatly, it is easy to test. My pump cost $200 at carquest autoparts. Hope this helps.

Yes, mine had like a hesitation at start, and was better if I got into the gas pedal faster. After the new fuel pump it doesnt hesitate like it did before. I drove the car all day, and it starts everytime. I would say to check your fuel pressure, and if it bleeds down right away like mine did then the only thing it could be is the pump. Buy a German made pump!!!

Believe me it sucked hard, but no other mechanic could even tell me what was supposed to go there. and it was not just a hose, it was a pipe and whole bunch of hoses. I did pay $300 in labor, which was a hose job all in itself! lol
