Default helpp. handling info??

okay so im 17 and im over the car my parents gave me. (96 honda civic..spare the flaming, i know, and it was free so you cant beat that..) but anywayss ive been checking into getting a 30v hopefully in 2 months-ish, and im aware of the reputable german machines are but ive never really experienced it. so tonight im goin up to best buy to get my paycheck, and my bud jeff is letting me 1:choose which car and 2:who drives. (my civic, his del sol, or his moms jetta) and to try to get some comparison, (since ive never even stepped foot in an audi) i drove the jetta. now it wasnt great and its a tdi so that tells you about the time i had trying to make the thing go, but i was VERY impressed. turns that would be throwing me out of my civic were nothing for the jetta. now i did finally get a chirp out of the tires but that was it and it was soooo much smoother. needless to say it was a dissapointing drive home in my golf-cart. so heres my question: i found the jetta to be a huge improvement now will that be the same ride i get with the a4?? im just looking for some experiences and youre own stories. oh and for the sport suspension that was optional on the a4, is it one of those sacrifices like better handling for a little comfort or what??. thanks!

A4's are a bit heavier than Jettas. You should definately drive one to get a real feel for it. There's really no sacrifice with the sport suspension vs the non-sport.

I like Hondas. I put 15" wheels with 205 50 r 15 tires on it.
This plus one Mod. made a big difference in handling, with a
slightly worse ride. I know this is an Audi forum, but he already
owns a very reliable car.

i'm sorry but i don't recommend you buying an audi just yet unless you have a decent cash flow. it does drive much better than a civic as i'm a former civic owner myself. to make any car ride better, you just need better suspension and wider wheels. you should keep that civic and save up a little more so you can prepare for any repairs the audi you buy may need. at least that's the route i took. just my .02 do hope you join our family someday though

yeah im workin on the saving up part im gonna get 2-3000 before i make a move towards getting one so i can add it to what i get for my car, and yeah i am a little hesitant to just because im not sure if ill be able to completely maintain it but i think if i can bag one for 6000 and make sure its been kept up with i think ill go for it, and im good at saving money so i think (hope) ill be good, im goin for the 2.8 because ive heard its more reliable and i dont really care about turbos/mods that much but yeah... youll know when/if i have a problem itll be on the site in a bout 2 seconds. thanks for the help guys

i hope you will be here to use our wonderful search feature.........................

and you will need atleast a good 1000 bucks in your bank account at all times, above and beyond what the car costs, taxes, insurance etc. just for repairs until you get to know the car and know how to work on it yourself.

if you arent mechanicly inclined and would rather take it to a shop when stuff breaks- you should be looking into another brand of car.
