...so I just replaced th outer boot on the pass. side front axle. Was great for a month, but the outer clamp let go and the joint started spraying grease all over the place again. Tried the universal boot clamps= POS, and finall said f**k it and used a 6" hose clamp. Cut off the excess band, dremeled it down to take off the sharp edges, and voila! it works. Has anyone tried this or know if it will stay tight? I have a feeling that the centrigual force is gonna loosen the tightening screw, even thought in foward motion the screw will be turning clockwise= keeping it tight. Any thoughts?

 

Put a blob of JB Weld on the screw at each end (on the head and on the tip), and use enough to bond it to the sleeve that it threads through. That'll hold it just fine.
