Default How to drain power steering fluid?

Hi,

Got a 1998 A4 B5, just wondering how to drain the power steering fluid? I've not looked at the pump/reservior etc to see yet, but was wondreing if anyone knew before I started looking?

You'll definitely want to use OEM fluid though, grab it from a local audi or VW dealer if you can.

Excellent thanks, so it's just the old fashioned way of removing hoses to drain!

....so remove the reservior hose from the factory cooler. Cheers.

Yep, but don't forget your iPod when you go buy the fluid - the dealer won't supply soft music when they bend you over. You'll have to bring it yourself.

(side note - I paid over $13 for a half-pint of it at the local dealer).

damn thats a lot. and i gotta go buy some soon since my PS fluid is a lil low!

F the stock fluid! find out what it is made out of and get the same crap from a third party. or even the audi crap for less from a third party.
