My MAF sensor is bad, I tried cleaning it, and replacing the filter, still ran bad. Disconnected the MAF sensor and it runs like a champ. Was curious how much damage can be done running without it for a while. I have to order the part and I need to go out and work on Friday. Any help is deeply appreciated. Thanks

Gas milage is a little worse, but you are fine without it on a 2000+ car. I ran mine for like 3 months w/o the maf to find out it was a loose connection on the turbo and not the maf.
My car is a 99.5 1.8T quattro.

Dear lord Nate, your avatar.... [sm=wtf.gif]
To keep things relevant, I actually ran without a MAF for a couple of hours, it worked out fine. Just don't delete it; replacing it asap is probably best.

^ you have a map. he doesnt. The base maps (not sensor) will be fine, but just not work as well ona AEB car like the OP has.
Oh, and get off my fat pig!

So I'm good to run with it disconnected for a few days then, and it won't hurt anything?

your engine won't be top notch by any means, but you'll be ok without it for a short period of time. expect a CEL light for sure though

Just dont go nuts on the car and you will be fine.
