Hi guys I am a new Audi owner. I have an 01 A4 Quattro 1.8T. Well I bought the car in Nov. My brother put a Stage III DXD clutch and a lightened flywheel. Today was the first time I drive the car. It makes a knocking sound. Now I know usually when you install a lighter flywheel you will hear a knocking noise a little at least with other cars but this one sounds pretty loud. When I was driving the car I felt the turbo was not running so smoothly it feels as though the engine is being forced or something is holding it back. The car feels slow to me. Might it be that its too much clutch for a stock vehicle? Might it be the diverter valve? Thanks every suggestion and comment is appreciated. And again Im new so dont be so harsh Im just learning about Audi.

 

Check the pushrod for the wastegate on the turbo.....

 

Can you be more specific about where the knock is coming from?

 

Sounds like it is coming from the bottom of the car but I will have to check closely I noticed it last night and it was already dark.

 

front of the car or back? Any specific time it happens? while shifting, while giving it gas while off the gas ect... The more we know the more we can help!

 

Its from the front it goes away when you rev it and now I can barely hear it because I put an exhaust on it but its still there. I think Im going to try and make a video of it. I didnt get a chance to look at it today because it rained and I dont have a garage. This really blows but I will try tomorrow. Thanks again.
