I'm Done
After owning 2 years I sold my 00 A4.Let me say what a relief, I guess we never jelled or got along, its been nothing but problems since I got it...just wanted to get rid of it, never again with Audi...
Well that's too bad, maybe you bought a car that had a hard life before you got it. My '96, at over twenty years old, is pretty damn trouble-free, in fact the only recent hastles have been related to the fuel pump, which in a way were my fault. I had a pump motor wire break, probably due to careless handling when changing the pump. However, I am due to be selling it, not because of any problems, it's that I've got an '05 Quattro 3.0 now.
I have an A4, 2.8 v6 1998, for a few years now, well 13 years now. 236K km.
One ignition switch,
one vacuum pump for the central locking.
2 x O2 sensors
and a few wear and tear items, ( and a few items , lets just change by the cowboys when I am not home)
It has been faultless, and still is.
Yes, It did give me some challenges.
Park on a slope with 1/4 of a tank and try and start it.
Yes that took a little time and VAG. 1 gall of gas worked wonders.
A great great engine, and the exhaust note at high revs is good too.
Sorry to hear you are not happy, or had a good one.
But Please try again.
