Indicator relay buzzing when left turning - TICK TOCK issues
Hi all - I have an A4 2.6 1997
Turn left and the relay makes a buzzing noise.
Turn on hazzard, all indicator lights work correctly.
Changed relay from old part number...
8D0 941 509 C to new part number...
8D0 941 509 D
Fitted with new relay but now the left command makes a double fast tick tock but no left indicator flashing.
Took apart old relay and I could short out the circuit of the two middle connectors and left turn indicators will work correctly (without the use of the arm/stalk) but no matter what I do, I can't seem to fix it so have returned it back to the slot, hanging out, in an open state and if I pull hard to the right, it will work! (short curcuiting the contacts) This is better than using the new part which will not give me anything more than a double speed tick tock!
Dash board indicator lights work correctly.
So my two main questions are...?....(and any other help please?)...
1) Is the new part number with the change of the part number from 'c' to 'd' make any differents?
2) Could it be the arm/stalk? Surely not though with the buzzing coming from the Hazzard relay?
Thank you for looking at my question.

Thinking it may be an issue with the switch itself (the stalk). You've proven you can make the relay function so it is probably healthy. It sounds like the switch is messing up and not properly triggering the relay to flash the bulbs.
Cheers for taking the time to give an answer...so why the different result with a new relay? Also would the differents in part numbers (see original message) cause the new relay to behave differently? Many thanks all.
