I'm actually planning on going with a franken turbo. the reason i ask is cuz i dont have the resources to cut the piping to make it fit, so i did some searching and found that kit at 034

A hacksaw would do just fine haha.
Trust me, you can do this yourself for under 200

That core would require some serious rape of your front bumper

My 5 cents: I bought ebay kit. Went with 2.75 thick, in retrospect the only mistake. 2.5 would have saved me a ton of (bumper hacking) time. Will a 20x6x2.5 be good for 450? Probably not. But you may check you power goal. Note: larger IC and piping also cost spool up.

True I hadn't thought of that at all. Well um how much did you cut on your bumper going with the 2.75

Quite a bit on inside, where the inlet/outlet pipe is, and the lower corners of the IC. It wasn't the amount so much, but since it goes deep, I tried to minimize what I grind away. So I had the bumper at least 20 times on/off, mark where it hits, grind, try, etc. I stopped when I was just barely able to push the bumper back on (under tension).

For the 10% increase in heat exchanger surface area, it was NOT worth it.
I would go 2.5 thick and 2.5 tubing.

You sure you can fit it into a B5 A4?

Contact the ebay guys (mine was a 'godspeed') at their ebay store. Click on ask seller, and tell them what you want. They all make various core sizes.
Standard is 20x6x2.5. When you go 26 wide, they may also go higher (26x9 or so?).
