Interesting question regarding the A4 and the R8
Hey guys,
So I was watching an episode of "Top Gear" and they had an R8 on there. They were talking about the advantages of AWD vs RWD and Fwd with cornering. They said that with the R8, no more than 1/3 of the engines power is ever transferred to the front wheels that way its primarily driven by the rear wheels but the front wheels help prevent under or oversteer. So i was wondering what the Front to Rear power distibution of the b5 A4's is?
Thanks,
Zak

This doesn't really regard A4 and R8 too much and you probably could have searched to find the answer but I'm pretty sure (not 100% though) that B5's with quattro come stock with 50/50 unless you have a facelift model with esp which will change the ratio depending on the driving conditions if turned on.
It's 50/50 on the B5 (A4) Quattro for a good road feel, and good for rally. The B8 (A4) has a 40/60 front/rear torque bias for a more sporty feeling. The R8 is set up for the track and has a 15/85 front/rear torque bias.
