I have a 2001 A4 1.8T tip and myissue is this. Two days ago I completely lost the ability to scroll through on my lcd display. I press the buttons on the stalk and nothing happens. When I press the reset button on the bottom the display turns off. Now I'm stuck looking at what my average mpg is and can't get it off. I couldn't find anything posted like this before so if any of the experts out there have a fix I'm all ears. I just want to make sure everything is ok before I deploy again and leave the car with my wife.

Sounds like the switch to me. Try some contact cleaner spray from RadioShack and see if that helps.

 

Dumb question.......is there an easy way to do that??? and now it's started slowly scrolling through on it's own. it's weird. the up and down functions don't work, but the reset does if I hold it down. if i just press and release it turns the whole display off. man this is getting annoying.
