just got back from a local one, i got a few good parts.

they had 5 or so B5's all with almost complete interiors all 2.8s with 1 1.8t
there was about 10 A6's that will have interchangeable parts we could use
more passats you can shake a sticvk at.
There was a complete horizontal Vr6 there also but i wasnt sure about fitment with quattro.

I went to another one last week that had a 2004ish A8 with a dead 4.2 and they had two or 3 passats

 

Guys, bringing this back and also to put out an APB on a part - friend lost the lower bumper/foglight grille, passenger side, from his 01 A8L. I know A8s are as rare as ******** from a nun when it comes to junkyards, but if one of you comes across one that has that grille, please pick it up and PM me - it's $55 locally at the dealer (not exactly expensive but still), so if the price is good (which at a junkyard it should be) please let me know. TIA...

 

Hey I'm on vacation right now but Wednesday I can make it up to one I know the prices were a tad high (1200 for a busted bottom end 4.2l v8) but I know there's a a8 with a grille what's he looking to pay? Also, I didn't know a8 in yards were rare I walked past 2 that looked decently complete. Also when I return there is a complete double din console I am going to try and pick up and sell as a full swap kit, finger crossed it's still there.

 

That'd be great. He's thinking for a grille 25ish max - more than that and he may as well buy a new one. He said he's interested in a ski sack and rear console vents as well (at the back of the armrest by the rear seat heater switches). If you do happen to get there and can get them without too much trouble, that'd be fantastic. I'll PM you my cell to coordinate. Thanks man

 

ok, i am going to a place where sometimes parts are free 99. lmk if i need any tools other than just the basics(sockets, screwdrivers, wrenches) probally some torx i'd imagine.

an '01 just went up near me for parts if anyone needs anything.

 

Does Keith still need the grille? I could always just yoink one from an A8 in a parking lot...
