I got low pressure oil light with rattling noise from my A4 1.8T 2002. Shop told me that I need new engine (new bottom) and that cost will be more than cars' worth. about 7-8K.
Can someone help me understand this better?
How much I should expect if I want to sell it as it is?
Does anyone know who might be interested in it in Metro Detroit area.

Really sad now, I loved this car, it was fun driving it.

I would be thoroughly interested in an instrument cluster with full LCD that would work on a '98.5, even if it has some dead pixels (always easier to repair a spare cluster).
