Just bought a 99 have a few questions
First of all welcome...My questions are is 24 psi ok to run with just a chip or even run that much on stock head gasket. How is boost regulated on these cars..The euro dealer I bought it from said there's a chip in it. The clutch doesn't hold very well as it is slipping.
So whats up with this dv/bov thing..I love the sound of a bov. I built very many turbo cars but this whole dv/bov has me confused..I tried looking for it but not sure I found it..lol..Im confused how it work on these cars.
I want to shoot for sound.
I searched but only came across smart a$$ comments.
Thanks

24 psi is going to exhaust the the little stock turbo real early in the powerband with a manual boost controler. Most chips designed for the stock turbo are meant to run 15-20psi. The electronic boost controller is called the N75 valve -located on the turbo inlet hose bellow the airbox ducting.
If you want a bov, find one like the forge splitter that doesn't vent at idle or else you'll run rich all the time instead of just between shifts. If you don't like the idea of leaking pre-metered air with the use of a bov, a cone intake will make the internal venting of a DV more audible.
Don't forget to read the links in the faq sticky. I think all your answers are found there, too.

Oh ya and now my clutch is holding..lol..
