Default Key cutting: Where? How much?

Has anyone had the new style key fob blades cut? How much did it cost and where did you go to have it done? Im looking into upgrading to the newer style flip key fob for my 96 a4, and wondering about the key less entry features working on a 96 as well..... any information on this topic would he helpful, thanks.

If you get keyless entry working, let me know how you did it, I hate having to unlock my door with a key everytime especially when the locks freeze in the winter. I need another 250 and the coilovers are mine!

As far as i know you can only use older two piece keyless entry/key setup. I tried to get the dealership and a local key shop to do it and they said it couldn't be done. expect to pay 140 to get the old school keyless entry clicker from the stealership

Sorry, but that's ridiculous.
Buy a kit from i.e. rclick.co.uk for 25£, they work. Just a bit of cabling to get done, but there's DIY guides alot of places..

If you don't want it as an additional key fob, you can cut the keys at most lock specialist stores. The immob transponder will have to be peeled out of an old key, or you should buy some blank keys for your car, and get a lock specialist to copy the immob code. Done in a matter of seconds. New keys that fit are about 5-12$ a piece, just peel the transponder out when you get 'em.

Ive heard that this kit isn't full proof for all cars, but works very well and straight forward for our b5s so I will be looking into this for sure.

On a search i found this thread, and the second reply, shows how someone programed their new keys, hopefully that procedure works with my 96....
