Default Key programming

So today I tried to start my car with my 2nd key. I bought my car used and the owner gave me one key with remote fob...and one with a service logo on it without any remote capabilities...

Anyway I tried today to start it with the service key...and the car wouldn't start. The yellow immobilizer indicator was flashing.

Question is how to program my 2nd key to be able to start the car and keep it running...(because it starts....and then engine dies)

Thank you.

I'm mobille and can't see any of your info, so forgive the questions. Where are you located? US spec B5's don't have immobilizers. The only way I know of to have a key programmed with immo is at the dealer. Otherwise you can do it with a spare key in about 5mins minutes

It's possible to do with vagcom or similar software, I don't know how because I've never looked into it but the functions are there.
