So I bought my first Audi, it is a 97' A4 1.8T. I know it has keyless but the previous owner did not have the remote. I was looking at maybe ordering one of ebay? I dont know how I would get the FCC number or whatever to compare it? Should I just go to the dealer?

i dont know about the whole ebay thing...but i do know if you go to tha audi dealer it will cost you $125 for the key and $100 or so for them to "program it" even if you need a battery it will cost you over $100...but i do know there is DIY

i would buy one off ebay, but make sure its compatible with your car. The dealer reprogrammed my key for me for free. maybe you'll be as lucky

yea my local audi was charging 195 i just went in today... i may try that first link out

 

I forget if its in that link or not but most VW dealers can cut your key also... for half the price
