KEYS KEY KEYS!!! (not in Van Nuys)
If you're from LA Area, i think you'll get that joke, sorry to others not in LA.
Anyways today my issue comes from my key, which I only have one that is broken/breaking, coming loose and battery is dying. So I went on Ebay to search for uncut keys because going to the dealership would probably cost me an arm and a leg. And I discovered that those German engineers love to complicate even something as simple as a key replacement. There are multiple key options and I see a few posts for pairs (YAY, 2 keys) for ~$37 and one post that has the pair for ~$68 and I see that the difference is only in one letter in the manufacturing part #. The three part numbers are 4D0.837.231E ($37), 4D0.837.231P ($37) and 4D0.837.231D ($68).
So my questions are as follows:
1)How do I find out which one is my key?
2)In the event that mine is the more expensive one (with my luck) (why the heck is it double the price of the other ones?), is there any way I can get it for a lower price?

I don't know the answer to your questions but when I was using a cut key in my Audi, the car wouldn't start on the first go, it would fire, burble then cut out. On the 2nd attempt, it would always start. When I switched to using the original main Audi key, it started fine first time everytime. So I'm assuming it had something to do with the immobiliser or chip.
