Default Latest project on the car (pics)

Nothing huge by any means, but after buying my spray tint about three weeks ago, I finally got around to tinting my taillights. I did no sanding at all - just wiped them down with alcohol wipes and then dried them with a microfiber towel, and started spraying. I did four coats total on each light, and they got exactly where I wanted them - with the lights off, in the garage, you can just see some red through them. Once the car is out of the garage, I imagine it'll appear a little lighter than it does here, which is fine - I wanted a smoked look, not a pitch-black look. I'm happy

Stock tails before tinting:

Taped off and in the process of tinting:

Finished and ready to install again:

And back on the car in the garage:

The actual taillamp bulbs are pretty dim behind the tint, but the rear fogs shine through nicely - I'm hoping that if I run those at night, it'll keep our friendly public servants off my case. We'll see.

and you said you wouldn't go too dark haha. well the brake light is lighter than the fog light anyways so ya maybe the brake light mod is needed.

Looks good. I'm debating on doing this to mine. Anyone know if there is any sort of replacement bulb that might be brighter?

Actually that's the dual rear fog mod, not the brake light mod. I'm not so worried about the brake lights due to the center high mount stop lamp in the rear window. The only concern that I have is if I'm not running the rear fogs, someone with a badge may become interested in why my tails are fairly dim.

Hiwords - the tails aren't as dark as they seem to be. The car is in the garage and as you know, most of the lighting I rigged is toward the center of the garage, not at the front where the door is. You'll see later on that they're not blacked out in any way. BTW, I threw the rest of the tint and a tape measure in the car to give you at AutoZone today.

For the bulbs, I've ordered from AutoFreak in the past (I got 27w backup lights for my Z). They have (or had, anyhow - haven't checked in a long time) a lot of higher-wattage replacement bulbs for a lot of different applications. Check 'em out:
