Default Light Paint Remover

A friend of mine bumped into my rear bumper, its really not bad, there is just some paint from his bumper on my bumper. I remember going to the body shop once and they used this product by 3M (he also put on gloves), and wiped the spot with one quick wipe and it was gone without affecting the paint on my car. Does anyone happen to know what its called?

dont use acetone. what he used is a very fine rubbing compound you can buy it at any autoparts store. i always use a meguires wax pad the little yellow round ones and a terry cloth to wipe it off. dont buff to much or youll go thru the clear coat. hope this helps

Sounds good ill try some wax. Yeah i dont think its acetone, thats too strong I think. I always heard you have to be really careful with that on car paint, and the guy has never thought twice about this stuff. Whatever he uses is thicker than straight acetone too.

and the best part is if your headlights r yellowed or hazy you can use the rubbing compound on your headlights to clean them and make em clear again. just buff it on let it dry and buff it off, repeat as necessary

Yeah maybe wax will work good. But whatever this is its like one wipe and its gone. He doesnt have to wipe off excess or anything. But if wax will work just as good ill try that instead.

It may have been a paint cleanser. Call a paint shop, explain this, and ask if they have any idea what it might be. You can also try a clay bar and see if ghat helps (I'd be surprised if it didn't).
