Hey, don't bag on my oil filter man lol. Purolator is good and nice on the wallet. For oil though, I only use Mobil 1. I usually get 5w40 but I got 10w40 high mileage one this time because they were out. I noticed that the engine runs a little cooler with the 10w40 coming home today. It comes in a 5qt. bottle for the same price as the 4qt. 5w40. I'm thinking about switching since I need to add a qt. between oil changes because of my oil leak.

A little spill? It's like a whole damn quart that pours out when I take it off. I'd rather put a bag there then having to waste time cleaning it up. That's just my opinion though.

I rock the Mann filter but do like mobile 1 due to its one of the few non energy conserving oils.

Chris my motorcycle club ran a huge test on different oils. The guy that headed the whole thing works for some huge engine shop. I'm out at lunch with the family (yet still on AF) so when I get home I will post the Wikipedia article.

Heh, I just changed my oil for the first time last night. What a PITA! It was like playing grab-*** with an octopus trying to get that oil filter out. I finally wound up taking the hose off the air intake -- is that the usual procedure? Oh, and when I did, I found a bit of oil on the end of the pipe. I'm guessing that's not a good sign...

Do what I did in the picture. It's easier to take it out that way with the coolant expansion tank off and you can leave the intake hose on. The oil in the intake hose is normal from what I was told. Some oil passes through the seals in the turbo. That's why you see it in there.
