Looking at a 99 Quattro v6
As for the clutch, my car (identical to what you're looking at) is at 157k miles on the original clutch, and it's holding strong. It depends more on the way it's driven than anything else. If the previous owners have known how to drive a stick and didn't whomp on it, it's probably good for quite awhile yet.
+1 ^
my 2.8 has 133k miles and i still have stock clutch, just done the regular service on her. i use royal purple and clean the filter whenever i got the time and its been the most dependable car ive ever had (only my 3rd ha!). did the timing belt at about 120k and thats all

I am officially an Audi owner! The car drives great but did need a few things. The owner was playing a bit ignorant on me but I when I went to look at it I found it needs both front tie rods, right rear wheel bearing, and a noise in the front belts. Right now its not known whether its timing belt or accessory belts making the noise but I will be finding out soon. One thing thats got me a bit nervous now though is that I hear a bit of a whirring noise in 1st gear and then silence for the rest of the gears. Please tell me I don't need a transmission... I talked the price down to 4600.
Good job negotiating!
Your labor would make this deal ultraswaheet....the wheel bearing is not all that difficult to replace, nor are the tie-rods. Both jobs are DIY if you are into that sort of thing...

ENeed a quick answer. I am trying to replace the transmission fluid but I am not sure which weight synthetic I should use. I am sitting here at the shop at 10:00 trying to find it out lol. I can't find the faq for this either.... I know I am probably blind... I know a lot reccomend Redline MT90 but I only have there D4 ATF fluid... Would this Mobil 75w90 be a good idea?
Edit... nvm I found it this is exactly what I want to use.
