Default lowering

I just recently got a 1998 A4 quattro. It is completely stock and to me it seems like it needs a good lowering. This is my daily driver and I am not really sure on how much I should lower it if at all. If any of you have lowered your A4's how low did you go and what kind of springs did you get/what all do I need to accomplish the lowering? Thanks.

I got 18 inch rims on mine and even tho I have race springs (2 inch drop in front and 1.5 in rear) I need WHEEL SPACERS so the tires dont hit the walls. Dont go too low or your going to ruin the bottom of your car, good luck with it, I am dealing with the same situation! the stock suspension is mighty high....

depends on budget......

I love my Bilstein Shock/H&R Sport Spring set-up: about $600 +/- depending on where you go.

Coilovers the best way to drop if you are looking for 1)adjustability 2)looking for that slammed look 3)have the funds.

Others will tell you to look around on AudiFroums and Audizine, you can find a ton of lowered cars in the forums. That should give you a better idea of what you are looking for.

Where did you get your shocks and springs at?

Got 'em from Tire Rack. And they shipped quick which is also a plus.
There are other combos out there though. I know MJM Autohaus has Neuspeed Race Springs with Bilstein struts. ECS Tuning has suspension packages. Blauparts has Bilstein shocks sold as a set.

Like I said, if you search around hard enough, you'll find something in your budget. I must have research for a week until finally hitting up Tire Rack.
