lowering the B5

think the only difference between avant and sedan suspension is higher spring rate in the rear for avants. not sure if vmaxx/raceland actually make avant specific springs or they're the same but I think you should be ok if with them.. I didn't notice any differences in the suspension on my avant

I don't have alot of Audi experience, but with other brands where aftermarket shocks or coilovers don't exist people do it all the time. Usually no more then 1.5" on eibachs, but I'v seen people lift Jeep's almost 3" using shock shocks. Depending how low, how you drive, other suspension changes etc will determine how much you shorten the lifespan.

i recommend vogtland coilovers. they are a little more than vmaxx and less than h&r coils but they perform and have comfort that are comparable to higher end coilovers. all in all it cost me 850 dollars. not bad, considering most cup kits with a static drop cost about the same. just know, going cheap isn't something i suggest for the sake of getting a good deal. this is your suspension. it will have a great influence on how u drive, how u enjoy the car, and how others will feel the inside of ur car. plus, i heard vmaxx coils are bouncy. for every gppd review for vmaxx ive found one that says they are bouncy after some time. heard wondrful things about vogtland on b5's and even on s4's.
