Hey everybody, I was wandering how often a manual transmission fluids should be changed. I know that Audi says that it is life time fluid but really I dont know of any fluid that is life time. Thats a long time:.

And do yall think if you go so many miles with out doing a fluid change, that it could hurt the transmission? Say 150,000 miles?

Also is these any know problems with the Audi's manual transmisson?

Thanks

80,000 miles is when it needs to be change and there are issues with the gears not sinking like 2nd gear wants to go into neutral

Off topic... but if it's a little bit, it's probably normal. Clean it out occasionally, though - especially the IC.

More likely a bad seal in the turbo, but thats only if its a lot of oil (like a quart or a half quart)
