mass air sensor problem
ok so my air mass sensor is not working and i am going to try to clean it but does anyone have any pictured how to take it out? any do it yourself stuff would help! thanks
you cant (easily) take the MAF element out of the black tube that it is attached to. just take everything apart and remove the whole tube from the airbox (its about 8" long 2.5" wide). the side with the mesh covering goes upstream of the airflow. you can try spraying MAF cleaner on it (use only MAF cleaner) but if it has more then 100k miles on it, its not a bad idea to just replace it. i gained a good 5mpg by replacing mine that had 120k miles on it.
