Default Mixed messages on engine type

I bought my a4 with a motor swap. Came out of a 98 Passat. 1.8t. I can not find any info on the motor itself. Its getting close to timing belt season and I need to figure this out. Where is the code on the block??? Online its either an apw, aeb, atw, aug, or awm.

On a side note, the car is asking for an inspection. Assuming its just time for a lube/whatever and oil change since no lights are on.

IMHO, the kevlar belt is an added insurance you really don't need. The tensioner is usually the piece that fails long before the belt ever does.

Speaking of the "inspection" light, on the tripometer, how the hell do you reset it? I've had mine on for about 15K miles now, several oil changes, a TB job, and so on and so forth. I checked the book, but I never saw it.

Brad... come on...
Everyone that reads this, bookmark this page http://www.audidiy.com/b5a4.html

Then for your lights go here. They are called service interval lights!
