Default need help with the ect sensor

ok so i been do minor repairs to the car all day come to the last thing i wanted to do and put the new ect (engine coolant temp) sensor in. im thinking sweet couple mins im done but nope this thing has an ungodly like grip in its hole have all the clamps and what not off but still wont budge. any ideas as to how to get it off would be greatly appreciated cause if i dont figure it out soon im just gonna start the car pressurize the system and yank on it till i get sprayed with coolant.

is this on a 1.8 or a 2.8? and there should only be 1 clip.. try taking off your coolant tank cap, to un preasurize the system. then the ects should just pop out.. but make sure u have towels or something, you loose alot of coolant when you do this
