Need Help! Identified Problem but Don't Know How to FIX!
Hello,
My b5 2.8 has always had a slow leak, but last week the leak got so bad that the car won’t even hold coolant, it just dumps out instantly.
So, I did some reading online and since I saw coolant dripping down the bell housing I read that it can be the aux water pump because they are known to be a weak point. Yesterday, I started to take the intake manifold off as if I was going to replace the aux water pump. However, after removing the intake I saw that coolant was pooling up in the valley of my block. After drying everything up and re-simulating the leak I saw that it was coming from this metal line going into the block. (see pictures below) Although it looked like this line was about to fall off, so I gave it a jiggle and low and behold… It fell off!!
So, my question is: What holds this metal line in? It has an o-ring on it but I really doubt that the seal of the o-ring is supposed to solely hold this metal line in. Is my car missing something that holds it in??
Thanks for any help!
Jake
