My 1999 A4 Quattro 1.8T is throwing a P1366 (17774 DTC) code for a cyl. 4 ignition circuit Short circuit to ground.
Anyone have any idea where to start looking to fix this.
I assume in the wiring to the coilpack to cylinder 4 but is there anything else to look for?

to trouble shoot this code:

check your fuses

check the wiring to the coilpack

replace the coilpack



do you have any other symptoms (misfires), or just a code? sometimes codes get stored after the problem is resolved. try clearing the code and seeing if it comes back

 

Have cleared the code, it takes a couple of days but comes back eventually.
Replaced coil packs 4 months ago.

Figured I would swap the #1 and #4 and see if the code moves first. Then look at the wiring.
