Need help with turboing my B5
Much easier to fit a complete 1,8T motor, harness and ECU.
There are way too many differences between the ADR and AEB engines, a few are:
Pistons (CR).
Exhaust valves.
Camshafts.
ECU.
Harness.
Ignition system (ADR uses 1 pack per 2 cylinders, AEB has individual packs).
MAF.
Oil pan.
Exhaust manifold (obviously).
Intake plenum.
Injector rail.
Coolant pipework.
Then you'll need to plum in your intercooler and associated oil feed / return, coolant feed / return. A lot of work for 25hp. Much easier to go for a complete AEB conversion, and less time consuming too, as it's all plug and play.
I hope your car's really neat, to warrant the conversion though.

alright thanks guys. so if i wanted to do a full swap. what all am i going to take out of the 1.8t car? motor, tranny, ecu, harrness. anything else that would be needed for a full conversion? or is there another thread will all this info in it?
You won't really need to replace the tranny, bar the lower gearing in your ADR-engined car, it is identical to that fitted to AEB models.
Just engine with harness, ECU, intercooler and pipework.
You can use the tranny from the 1,8T if it's cheap enough. Obviously, if you have a wrecked donor car dirt cheap, then you can use the lot. Allow a weekend for the complete install.
You may have to have the 1,8T ECU re-programmed, due to immobilliser issues. Of course, if you have a complete donor car, you can use the original ignition key. Involves changing the rest of the locks though, if you want 1 key to work for the whole car.
I'd go with re-programming.
