Welcome to the forum Matt. Congratulations on getting a car with such few miles, but it's a bummer without quattro.

Unfortunately there really isn't much for power upgrades on the 2.8L. There was a company offering a chip, but for the money all it really netted was ~10-15hp. If you want to get really drastic, there is a supercharger kit available for some serious $$$.

Has the timing service been done? With 65k miles it isn't due by mileage, but at 12 years old, it may be something you want to look into.

I would just lower it, maintain it, and enjoy the ride.

Non quattro were the fun in that??.. 2.8 for mods I learned its a waste of money.. u shoulda at least got manual transmission.. let me just say it how they told me.
If u want a fast car you picked the wrong one.. I love my 2.8.qm wouldn't even trade it in.. but if mod is what u wanna do.. trade it in for. 1.8 or s4... My two cents

plus the fwd is faster and lighter. not everyone needs quattro. I got it mainly for fun in the snow and it only snowed once last winter.

I would disagree that Quattro is just for fun in the snow. I test drove FWD and Quattro models before buying mine. I've never driven a FWD that didn't torque steer A4 included. Even on dry pavement, the Quattro model was much more composed and handled much differently.

There is really only a 200lb difference between FWD and Quattro models. 2000 Audi A4

any fwd is going to torque steer more thank likely. I owned a fwd and sold it immediately and bought a quattro. Just saying quattro isnt for everyone. Regardless the ****** is heavy as hell 200 pounds isn't changing much.

To the OP, their point is that if you want to mod for power, the 2.8 is the wrong A4 to get. Any affordable mod makes negligible power, and the $2500-3300 for a supercharger will gain you about 100hp and 65tq, but that money on an S4 or 1.8T will make more yet. Mod your 2.8 for looks, handling, and braking.
