New A4 owner with a few questions
I'm a new A4 owner. Just picked the car up Saturday. Its a 2000 a4 2.8 quattro manual with 78,000 miles. This car has a couple problems. I thought $5500 was a good deal but its not looking so great as i discover problems.
The clutch grabs very late. My foot is almost off the pedal when it grabs. The clutch also slips. This is especially noticeable in 4th and 5th gear. I'm hoping this is just an adjustment(the car only has 80,000 miles on it!). Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.
Also at 80,000 miles its probably time to change the timing belt and everything else that goes along with that. Could this be pushed to 100,000 miles because it is a 2.8 and later than '99? couldn't find any clear answers for that. I don't want to take any huge risks but I'm also not looking forward to spending a ton of money right now.

i wouldnt risk the TB not worth it at all. And the clutch is most likely gonna need replaced although the high engagement is normal. I would say if everything else checks out decent it was still a good deal.
