Why did you decide to buy one? I was thinking of moving to Colorado so I picked one up for the all wheel drive

Hello everyone! Today is my first day on the forum. On 4/6/14 I became an Audi owner. My new baby is a black 1999 A4 1.8T Quattro. It isn't running at the moment, but I just picked up a motor this past weekend and plan on putting it in this upcoming weekend. Looking forward to sharing my experience with everyone.
Questions to answer:
Do you like your new audi?
Absolutely. I can't wait until it's up and running. My sister has a B5 as well and I've thoroughly enjoyed it.
How long have you owned it?
8 days!
Why did you decide to buy one?
If you've seen one, you know exactly why.
Was there another vehicle you were thinking about before you bought the audi?
I was looking at Miatas as I autocross, but I stumbled across a deal I couldn't refuse.

-----Yes (although not new) I Love it! But I hate the cost of maintenance!

-----My buddy lived next to a dealer, buddy wasn't home yet, went for a test drive and the rest is history ;-)

Now that that's out of the way... I just got my Audi A4 2.8 Quattro 5 spd and I love it... The handling is great and the pick up isn't bad.
Cons: The headlight bolts, hood latch and all calipers are rusted... bad... I found a donor car at the yard today and got the latch and bolts, but still need the calipers. I'm heading over to classifieds after this to see if I can't find some. Plans are to ditch the stock exhaust and throw on a 3" with a oval muffler... Then see if I can't find some leather interior because mine is cloth... I would like some ideas on rim size and type... NO CHROME!!! And what heads will match up to boost it... Haynes was ordered already... I assume Passat parts are interchangeable???

Hello, the names Steve and I've just joined as I bought my brothers 98 1.9tdi Avant, always fancied it so when the opportunity came up I had to have it.
She needs a little TLC, not that he hasn't spent a fortune in recent years on her.
Also she sits on lowered springs which are not to my likeing, too harsh, so I will be looking to replace these very soon......

Hey all. New Audi owner, new to the site. Just picked up a 2001 A4 1.8T Quattro 5spd this afternoon.

Why did you decide to buy one?
I needed a commuter car, and wanted one with a manual trans and a little bit of potential. The 1.8 turbo block and the quattro system fit the bill perfectly.
Was there another vehicle you were thinking about before you bought the audi?
A buddy of mine has owned nothing but VAG cars his whole life. It was between an A4 and a Golf 1.8T or GTI VR6. The A4 I found needs a little work with 204XXX miles on it, but it runs strong. It will make a great commuter until I can beef it up a little.

How long have you owned it? 6 months
Why did you decide to buy one? price was nice and didnt need much.....(till 6 months later, all control arms and half shalfts for the front)
