Wow this is an old thread, I'm not new to Audi, but I am to the forums. I have read the forums for years but never contributed. I'd like to say that they can be a great help for people new to Audi's.
I have loved my Audi since the second I took it for a test drive. I have had some ups and downs with it, but overall I wouldn't change my decision.
I have had my 2001 Audi A4 Quattro for 10 years now. One thing I will say is that if you get one make sure you have a good mechanic you trust or can do the work yourself (Don't go to Audi). I have always done all my own work and it's been an adventure for sure. My car has 190k miles on it and still going strong. However, I have replaced almost everything on the car. All accessories and suspension, most electronic sensors, catalytic convertors, heater & A/C cores, and top end gaskets plus hoses. My car had over 100k when I bought it. Most of this should be expected, so if stuff like this scares you don't buy one. I however, still love my Audi more than any other car I have ever had(over 10).
Bought Audi because of All Wheel Drive and Luxury. Mid-sport but not too sporty. I have the sport version as well so my car is lowered, other than that pretty stock.
I was looking at other similar sedan mid-sport cars like Acura, Lincoln, Lexus, Subaru, and Mercedes. Once I drove the Audi it wasn't really a hard decision to make. Sometimes I hate shifting but when you really want to drive nothing beats it! Getting to know Audi can be a big learning curve if you've never worked on them. Once you do, you can see the excellent engineering involved.

I love my 03 A4. It was my my X wife's Co. Car. A couple yrs ago her boss had his buddy's vw shop do a valve job and fix anything it needed. Gave her the pink. He's a great guy. She just gave me the pink. I thank this site and all of you that will help me keep her running.Originally Posted by auditech79

Hi everyone,
Do you like your new audi?
Not so new now but of course!
How long have you owned it?
It's now been 8 years...
Why did you decide to buy one?
Because it was the "best bang for the buck"
Was there another vehicle you were thinking about before you bought the audi?
Yes, a BMW 325 but luckily I went for the Audi
a bit more expensive but a lot better IMO.

Hey all,
My name is Nate and i'm new to the forum.
1. Yea, I for sure love my Audi A4
2. I've owned the car for about 4 months
3. I always have wanted an Audi since I first got my license almost 15 years ago and I found the exact one I've been looking for randomly on craigslist, so I bought it.
4. No, I honestly have been looking for this car for almost a full year. No other car was even on my radar.

Hey everyone, new to this forum as I just got my first Audi. Its a 2000 A4 with 4 quattro and the 6cyl engine. Just starting to get into it as this is only the second car I have bought and almost all of my experience has been maintaining/upgrading a 1993 BMW 318is (E36 for anyone familiar). This is a new adventure for me and will probably be here a lot.
Do you like your new audi? So far yes it is a lot nicer than my old bimmer, more comfortable and better creature comforts
How long have you owned it? 2 days
Why did you decide to buy one? Honestly couldnt argue with the price, Had a friend who retired and was sailing away on his yacht and had no need for a car anymore so he gave it to me for $50 and a case of beer. Its got 200K miles on it and a wheel bearing that needs replaced but he had just done the timing belt, water pump, new tires, and a new Bosch battery so its in pretty good running order.
Was there another vehicle you were thinking about before you bought the audi? Honestly no. Was not really looking for a new car as the Bimmer runs just fine (despite the 250k miles). But it is nice to have a car where the interior is not falling apart (major issue on the early E36).

Not new, but I still have the 1996 A4 Quattro hand-me-down from my younger son. It was his first car, and he found it on AutoTrader 11 years ago. He later moved on to a 2000 S4, and the A4 became mine. Twenty years old, and no near-term plans to replace it.
