Thumbs up new to me A4 B5

I'm and industrial AC mechanic and I traded my brother in law plumbing and electrical work for his sons old Audi. I needed a new project and the car has been great for that.

Pick and Pull, EBay and my friends are all glad I got this car. Audi forums has been a fantastic source of knowledge, assistance and humility in my repair and enjoyment of this car.

I've replaced the following at our storage unit parking lot over the past 4 months:
Thermostat (new), rear block cooling manifold (new), AC compressor (PicknPull), AC condenser (PicknPull), AC accumulator (new), AC metering orifice (new), AC O-rings (new), AC refrigerant (new), Passenger axel/cv combo (new),Passenger wheel bearing housing/bearing (PicknPull), all sorts of misc. missing and broken parts (PicknPull).

Currently I'm getting a set of locking wheel lug removal sockets to get 4 mint wheels with new tires from PicknPull for $150.

One of the added benefits of PicknPull is you can practice your repair skills all afternoon for $2.00 and walk away not having to pay for any parts you may have destroyed in the educational process.

Looking forward to more adventures in foreign auto repair.

You have to pay just to enter your junkyard? Weird. Only $2.00 but I've never heard of having to pay to just walk in. Thats kinda on like saying I have to pay if I walk into Walmart.

Questions to answer:

Do you like your new audi?

How long have you owned it?

Why did you decide to buy one?

Was there another vehicle you were thinking about before you bought the audi?
  • I really like it, I just bought it and though I got it real cheap, it runs great.
  • Not even a whole day
  • I decided to buy one because not only did it appeal to me the most out of what my price range allowed, but because it drove the best of all the cars I test drove.
  • Jetta MK4, Golf MK4, and a Civic

I got a 1997 Audi A4 Quattro 2.8 V6 with a manual transmission

Smile my 2001 audi a4

Although I went from a Honda civic to an Audi, I have driven many other cars. As far as overall cad, I love it! My downsides are much to easy to live with. Not having automatic headlights is a little odd and the heated headlight jets always being broken on every model I've seen from the B5 series is fairly annoying and depreciate s the appearance of my vehicle, I can live with these problems. The 1.8T motor many have slugging issues in other cars but I haven't experienced any problems Sith that. Otherwise, the motor is bullet proof. I replaced my timing chain tensioner, all the drive belts (including timing belt) and a few small hoses. Aside from the very small issues , this car has been an amazing pleasure to own. The luxury is through the roof, the modification abilities are great, and the Quattro system being all mechanical still is rock solid. The body style is a little homely on the front but the other all body style is fierce, at least when lowered. Either way, this car has been a treat to own, even for such a small time. Can't wait to run it up and past200000 miles!

1. I just bought it, and I love it!!! 2000 2.8L Quattro, runs like a champ.

2. Got it over the weekend

3. I decided to get it because I have seen some really awesome Audi mods and the Quattro was a big selling point for me.

4. I was looking at a VW Golf and a MB C230 Kompressor. Glad I chose the Audi though!

Default Solid car

I picked up a '97 a4 quattro about a year ago, it runs great and the body is solid. It was single-owned and taken good care of, has about 160k. I bought it because I totaled my truck, and it was within my budget. It has start up issues, but hopefully I can get some help on this site!
