New owner here, need advice
Hello, I was lurking around the forum and did a few searches, but i did'nt find what I was looking for, currently on my car I have the two piece non projector headlights, it's a 1999 A4 Quattro 2.8 Auto, I was looking at ebay for headlights but I can't seem to figure it out, I would like real projectors with the possibility of adding aftermarket HID's, wich ones should i choose ?
Also I'm a real fan of dual exhaust, not dual tips, but a real dual exhaust system, anything out there for the v6 2.8 ? or should i get out the mandrel bender and tig ?
Thanks

1st question since it's a '99 is it a 99 or a 99.5? go here to help find out.

It's not a v8 buddy, sorry to say, I think it'd be kinda pointless.
I guess my V8 roots are showing, but still, there's nothing out there that was done ? I've seen some headers, but they were shorties, so all the power band is in the high rpm range, Worst case I guess i'll just remove the muffler and pass a Y pipe just underneath the rear diff
But then again a properly tuned exhaust system with the proper tubing size and right header will give really good gains, but more noticeably, really good low end torque
I come from an fbody background, so this is the first 4cyc car I have ever owned. I am not sure about the 2.8 6 cyc, but a nice 2.25 free flowing with offroad (nocat) pipe and a free flowing muffler like magnaflow might be nice and provide enough back pressure to keep the low and mid range torque.
I had done a similar setup in a modified 3.1 90 v6 in a chevy cavalier, and it was very nice sounding.

The stock exhaust on this car is similar to the stock intake in that it's really well-designed and flows great. Over the years it's been shown that the V6 cars don't gain much from a catback. Most just do an axle-back to gain the sound and style. Long-standing logic with Audi is to buy the turbo variant if you want power mods and get the V6 for smooth power and less-intensive maintenance. With a V6, buy a supercharger or enjoy the car's engine as-is and mod for handling and style.
And if your car is a 99 and doesn't have projectors, it's an early 99. A 99.5 would have projectors already.
