what kind of spark plugs do you guys reccomend for my 1.8t?

 

Not champions. I hear they're junk. I heard Pulstar plugs were good though. But I think they're a little pricey too.

 

a lot of people suggest NGK

 

my "personal VW/Audi mechanic" recommends Bosch

i just installed a set of Bosch fr7 ldc+ plugs in my 1.8t.......what a difference!
i was getting some boost surge at high rpm/boost....and now, nothing!
car runs a TON better!
also idles smoother than before.....

i also hear the f7 ldcr plugs work great too.
both of these plugs are a dual electrode, unlike the stupid triple electrodes that came on the car

 

I'd like to check into those pulstar plugs. I've seen some ads in popular science and popular mechanics that make them pretty enticing. want to throw them in your car and do a write up on the differences? do it. it'd be something nice to contribute to the forums.

 

I hear that bosch are the recommend, but personally I have felt a good different since I added my NGK's

 

i used Autolite Platinum AP3923 and i had to set the gaps

got them at autozone.. im probly going to change them to a high peformance plug but these work great for now... and says Nascar Performance (which i doubt)

 

I changed my plugs to NGK and they work pretty good. I looked up the pulstars and they are about $25 a plug. That was the price from JC Whitney. They're usually pretty good about prices too.

 

I run NGK BKR7E's in my S4. They are super cheap (only $1.50 a plug or something like that) but they have a bigger electrode so they make a bigger spark. Only downside is I change them every oil change. HAHA

I love the ol'school vanilla Bosch copper resistor-less plugs (does anyone really need am radio?), changed at 15k. Just plain single electrode plugs, indexed (look that one up, if you never heard of it) to make full use of the stock ignition system on a street car. $2 each and I know exactly what I will get out of them. If you are running over stock levels of boost, I might suggest going with colder plugs.

Don't believe the hype on plugs... You really don't need multi-electrodes or fancy metals. Just change plugs every 15k and you can get all 3: cheap, fast and reliable.
