hello -- i am new to this forum so dont shhoot me - i am looking at multiple cars but found a 2001 S4 auto with about 55k for $12k and seems mint and there is a 2005 s4 auto with 90k on it for $20k and it looks perfect.. and a 2005 manual for $24k with 55k on it.... i like the 2005 body style but like the price of the 2001 (not sure if its a 2001.5 -- have to recheck)

so what is the best way to go here -- i can spin a wrench but want this to be a dependable daily driver thats fun to drive --

are u looking to mod any of these if you had one of them, and if so what would u be looking to do as far as mods/ also what kind of people owned the cars before, have they taken care of them with all the maintance like timing belt, fluids, the little things that are needed

 

You want the one with a manual transmission. If you think you want the one with an automatic, then you are obviously a 12-year-old girl.

 

auto = fail.. trust me i know.. my transmission just failed on me

 

i would go with the 01 s4... body style is sick on those, AND youll have 10k left over if you go this route. (for mods and repairs)

 

not worth the automatic go with the 2001 s4 2.7t alot cheaper and easier to mod

 

find a manual 01 S4.

if you want to mod = 00-01 S4

if you want a daily drive w reliability get the 05 S4.

don't get an auto transmission whatever your pick is!
