Newbie With Possible Clutch Problems
#21
The new SB kits still use the same pressure plates. So you would want one of the SS kits. If you plan on launching the car I would suggest either the SS/TZ or one of their 6 puck setups. The SS will engage low on the pedal and be much stiffer then stock.
The SS-TZ is basically a match to the CM FX300, both use a Segmented Kevlar disk. The SB kit will have a much stiffer pedal then the CM 228mm FX300. So the biggest difference is the pedal feel(resistance) and the engagement point.
CM 240mm kit also engages just below mid point on the pedal and has a slightly stiffer then stock pedal feel(softer then the SB SS). It has a 2500 lbs clamping load vs the SB SS which is 2400 lbs.
Only thing that is going to be stiffer then that would be a CM FX850 twin plate which has a 3600 lbs clamping load or something like my dual diaphram which is 4800 lbs but my custom clutch is a work out. I might have CM make me a 240mm setup with a stiff pedal feel like the FX850 which has a pedal feel I really liked. IF we cant do that CM has already said they would make me a custom single plate FX850 which any disk choice I want.
I sent you a PM with more info.

Hey guys,
Sorry to start an argument, I should not have used the word "launch" as in a Drag Racing term, it was more of an "Aggressive Street/Stoplight Start"
My Friend drives a Subaru, so he is not new to the concept of launching an AWD vehicle. He revved the car to between 4k-4500rpm and let the clutch out (not a dump) but Once the clutch was fully engaged, he put the throttle down and the car stayed at about 3000rpm but didn't launch it just did sort of a normal easy start and he though the clutch was just slipping the whole time.

Yeah on the shows they put up a email for getting the car on the show or get on to win some money. I have yet to see a A4 on their show or even any Audi. I am sure Ken would say "Damn not a VW/Import". lol
