I'm with you Kendal, and that exotic gas blend.

form Wiki

Nitrogen (pronounced /ˈnaɪtɹəʤɪn/) is a chemical element that has the symbol N and atomic number 7 and atomic weight 14.00674µ. Elemental nitrogen is a colorless, odorless, tasteless and mostly inert diatomic gas at standard conditions, constituting 78% by volume of Earth's atmosphere.

OK, im going to try and set this straight a little bit on my part. In my case I live in NY witch has the full range of blistering hots and sharp colds.

I got Nitrogen in my tires and i cant remember the last time i filled them up. I havent touched the air compressor for my Audi in the entire Year and 2 months ive had the car. No joke, it does last alot longer than compressed air. And yes to all who ask, my tire pressure is at a good level as of now.

The normal rate of loss from a tire mounted on a passenger car with atmospheric air is approximately 1 psi per month.

For passenger cars, it is cheaper, easier, and safer to simply check the air pressure in your tires on a regular basis. Nitrogen has been used and proven beneficial in trucks, but they travel millions of miles in just a few years.

Atmospheric air is almost 80% nitrogen. Filling the tires in your Audi with 95+% nitrogen might make you feel better, but there are no significant benefits to the air you just paid to put in your tires.

I personally fill my tires with helium to make them lighter, so my car is faster...

Tweaked, you are going the wrong direction. Nascar and indy cars work hard to get DOWN force to stick to the track. Look for some heavy gas, maybe CO2, etc.......

Well, I figured it would reduce unsprung weight. Maybe I should go with lead or uranium. The extra gravity will give me more grip in turns.

If you've already filled up your tires with air wait until you get new tires because in order to get at least 95% nitrogen they will have to deflate and reinflate your tires around 3 times. If you want more info, I have a good write up on this in an scc mag i can look for and scan up.

an other thing to get money out of your wallet. Use normal air and check every month. Its not because you have nitrogen that you should stop checking tire pressure.

The only good thing out of this is that the pressure in the tire stay the same even if temp. has variations.
