I haven't had a front licsense plate on a cra for 9 years. I've been pulled over for it once (just cause he was going 10 under the speed limit on the highway and I was the only one who passed him, and on the 4th of july weekend), but he just gave me a warning. I think the cop in your case is being a dick.

I can't beleive you get away with that in colorado for so long. I just got pulled over the other day for a seatbelt and the cop warned me about the front licence plate. The damm cops here in the springs pull you over for anything. There even has been news articles abouthow they pull over everything for anythingand nothing gets changed.
Let's just say I have some first-hand experience with traffic court. And the police.
Don't pay a lawyer. If you can afford a lawyer, you can afford the fine. Install the plate. And wear a tie to court. You'll feel over-dressed, but when you get in line with everyone else, you'll see what I mean Your professionalism and attitude will please the prosecutor or judge. Good luck.

You could legally go faster then the posted speed limit if you are passing in the left lane. This is limited and varies to statutes.

So... I'm not trying to keep dragging this thread on.. but... This Audimania kid seems Like that kid who learned some stuff in school and is going to try to test the waters. But He's wrong in most ways. And..... As far As I know, there's a speed limit which means that the fastest your supposed to go no matter what. I'm from minnesota, And if I sped past someone in the left lane that broke the limit, and I told them well i'm passing someone so it's ok. They would laugh as they wrote my ticket. The left lane is for passing people who aren't going the limit...Right??? hey I could be way wrong but that's just my take.
Also It's the law here also to have a plate in the front. Not a big deal, Nothing a couple matching zip ties couldn't handle. And dont get me wrong with the speeding stuff, I do my fair share of doin my 6-10 over but if i used that as an excuse for passing someone it wouldn't fly.

I was not being a dick. The cop did not like the fact that I did not roll down the window for him all the way. He told me to roll it down more but I refused to because I did not want him to stick his face in my car. Cops have a job, and I respect that, but their main goal is to arrest you and they will go on and beyond the means to do so. I have the right to protect my personal property. I also think that he did not like the fact that I started the conversation with a firm "How can I help you?" .

I wish i knew that when I was in High School. Glad you liked it. Experience with it with minor offenses to see what will happen. As you can see, from the previous threads it is often portrayed by being incomplaint. To some extent, some may even say that I was being a dick.
