Default no headlights, turn signals, horn, wipers, blower motor ect.

so this morning i went outside to start up my 1999 A4 2.8 Quattro w/ triptronic. it started fine, but i noticed the gear select postion and outside temp wasn't coming on in the cluster, but everything else in it worked. then i found out the head lights, turn signals, wipers, and the blower motor won't come on as well. All though the flashers worked and there weren't any blown fuses. Any thoughts or ideas?

I just had the same problem. Many threads here point to the Combi Switch. I replaced that but it didn't cure my problem. I did further troubleshooting an found that the Ignition Switch had burned out one of the terminals. I'll bet that your lights come on when you pull the lever back in passing mode? Part of the combi switch gets direct power from the fuse box but the functions you describe get power from the ignition switch. There are two power (red) leads going into the ignition switch. The power lead that supplies the combi switch is the one pictured on the right with the arrow. The power leaves the ignition switch to the combi switch via the yellow and black wire.
I hope I can save you some troubleshooting time because mine was down for 2 months while I was figuring it out. (Maybe only 5-6 actual hours)

Not sure if I am entering this correctly. I have the same problem. I am still looking but so far, I found a terminal in the ignition switch that overheated.(Posibly due to a bad connection) I replaced that terminal but that have not solved the problem yet. I need to find a relay or controle unit that is somehow linked to the horn, indicators, lights and wipers +.
