****, $100, $130...get me a key! At Wyoming Valley Motors(local vw, audi, bmw, etc), they told me $110 for a valet key and $200 for a key fob. These are out the door prices, but still pretty steep!

$130 just for the top part of the key fob... not for the whole thing.
I think it's like $230 for the whole thing

I wasn't slamming him for having a digital micrometer, man...I was just surprised when my wife told me about it. Ain't gonna find that at no Chevy dealer!

Gotcha. My Audi only came with one key fob, so I need to get a valet or another fob. They're expensive though, so it looks like just a valet for my spare.

Update: I finally got someone to cut the key for me. The guy messed up my key (the copy) so he told me to get the blade at the stealership and he'll pay for it.
It was hard to get my original key working until he sprayed some lubricant on the key and on the door.

Thumbs up

Final update: The stealership wanted to charge $130 total. Of course the locksmith dude wouldn't pay that much so he got the blade himself, cut it and replaced it. He only charged me $20 total and I didn't have to program anything else... I guess 2000's don't have any chip.
I just need to program the remote, for some reason it isn't working... I gotta keep trying.

Thank y'all for your help.

Default Ignition key will not open drivers door

I just bought a 2000 Audi A4 when I tried the key in the drivers door it would not open the door.I removed the inner door panel and found that the door was replaced at some point.Looks like they did not put the original door lock on the new door. Is is possible to get a key maid for the drivers door? My concern is if something goes wrong with the auto door locks I have no way to get in the car.

Online auction sniper is designed to save you money. Other participants cannot estimate your interest in the lot since your bid is invisible. The sniper https://isnipe.io/en/ automatically “hits the target” at the very last minute, and the other participants are lack of time. A sniper can in one go track dozens and hundreds of various goods. And if you have several accounts on the auction site - you can link all of them to the program.

I'm having the same problem getting a second key cut for my 2005 A4 Cabriolet.
IF ANYONE KNOWS A PLACE TO GET ONE CUT ANYWHERE IN CONNECTICUT OR W RI (I AM ON THE SHORELINE) PLEASE CHIME IN!

I think they call it a sidewinder style.
I do not have a chip, so it is just the issue of getting it lazercut.
The fob is supposed to work and can be programmed without a dealer once I have the key inserted.

Called many locksmiths and auto parts and hardware stores.
Striking out so far.
Some places do advertise doing these kinds of keys (one even shows and Audi key on its website!), but no one has returned my call.
Walmart and Home Depot next.
Also was told that AutoZone can do it, but you have to go to a warehouse store (for me Bridgeport is the closest).

If you can wait, you can get them cut on AliExpress. Just take a photo of your key and they will cut a new blade for you.
